Development and growth

Cultivating and growing in the right soil

Our vegetables grow best in a mild sea climate, like the Dutch salty sea atmosphere and chalk mineral-rich soil. However, the Netherlands’ colder seasons can be harsh to vegetables – so in the winter, we shift our efforts to Portugal. Our Portuguese soils are much like those in northern Holland, so our cultivation process works exactly the same way there. Between our Dutch production and our Portuguese branch, VGT Lda., we guarantee the availability and quality of our pointed cabbage all year long.

Sustainable production

We keep our soil in optimum shape for sustainable fields. We do this by switching fields with other farmers to plant ‘in between’ crops, which improves the fertility of our fields and allows for a gentler, more natural production process.
